Apologizing for not having written sooner but explaining she has been suffering from an Inflammation in her eyes; saying she is glad they are enjoying their cottage and "I should like very much to have a small little place of the same sort but my finances will not admit my having it;" adding that as of the next week she will be "...almost the only person left here & altho' I like quiet as best fitting for me at my time of life, I dont like solitude;"
