Summary
Declining his offer of venison and relating news of Brighton; saying "We are thank god got a little quiet here - there never was any thing like the public fetes & rejoicings we have had here but I have except seeing what pass'd out of my windows have not join'd the gay throng - I am still but a poor Creature - I cannot regain my strength nor have I been able as yet to eat the least degree of animal food, I never dine any where as I cannot bear the smell of meat but I am told a little patience & all will come right - The Royalties are leaving very quietly - nobody at the Pavilion but the family;" relating social news and concluding "...what confusion there is all over the Continent - I am sadly afraid we shall get into some scrape in consequence."
