Expressing her happiness at the news of George's sister's marriage but saying she "...had promised not to mention it & I have strictly kept my word - I have known all the family for years & Mr. Bromley is always spoken of by them and every one that knows him in the highest terms possible - he has at present about 3000£ pr. ann. but his elder brother will never marry & old Davenport's fortune is a very great one...His whole family are enchanted at the match & like her amazingly - indeed I think it is a most excellent match on all sides - But my D. Mins as to keeping it a Secret you must not expect that for to my astonishment who should come flying into my room this Morning but the Countess [illegible] & the first thing by way of news that she told me was of Lady Louise's marriage - I pretended I knew nothing about it but if she has told it to me she will tell it to others - she gave Mrs. Wilkins up as her authority;" relating social news.
