Summary
Thanking him for his kind letter and saying "I hope you are not displeased with me for desiring you to leave off Madam - it chill'd me it look'd so formal. I am well aware of your kind meaning & I hope changing the address will not make any difference either in your sentiments or mine - I am delighted to hear such good accounts of you all & particularly that D. Min is not so great a skeleton as when she left Town - I often wish I could take a peep at you all but as that cannot be I must wait with patience till you are [illegible] to move to the South - I have been staying here much longer than I wish or intended owing to poor Daykin having been taken most dangerously ill at Brighton & for some days I expected every hour to hear it was all over - a letter from Dr. Price yesterday made my mind more easy & if no relapses I hope he will be able to come up in a day or two, I cannot tell you how much this has distress'd & worried me for I nearly do not know what to do without him & as it is, I fear it will be some time before he recovers - his wife is with him - if he is able to come & settle a few things I cannot do without him I trust I shall be able to get to Brighton early next week;" relating social news.
