Relating the details of the troubles of Mrs. Wat who gave money to someone who "...to pay the Bills squandered it away at the gaming Table - at present as far as we know she loses above four Hundred...I have done all I can to be of use to her & I hope for the future she will look more into her affairs, independent of His affairs. I understand she owes some Hundreds, I am sure you must recollect how often I have told you my fears upon this subject;" adding that she will return to Brighton once Mrs. Wat goes to visit Minney.
