Notes
Date of writing from the date written in an unknown hand at the top of the first page. Place of writing from contents of the letter. Fitzherbert has dated the letter "Wednesday Morn'g" which would have been October 10th however it appears she started the letter on Monday the 8th, continued it on Tuesday night the 9th and completed it on Wednesday morning the 10th.

Summary
Discouraging her from negotiating any further with a Mr. Haldiman over the sale of his house; saying the Duke of Sussex visited her the previous day and relating news of the King; saying "The K. the day he went to the Q[ueen] of W[ürttemberg's] birthday at St. James's he announc'd to his family he was going to pull down the entire Palace at St. James', Marlbro' House &c as Prince Leopold had it only for nine years to come he sh'd pay him 3000£ per ann. for turning him out one thousand less than he pays rent for it now, people are all in amazement at this proceeding, it is also said he is to reside at Devonshire House this Winter in consequence of the alterations he is making at the Cottage - What will he do next?;" commenting on the good work of Mrs. Roi, a nurse who came highly recommended from Dr. Herbert; adding "Forster [Solicitor to the King] desir'd me to say many kind things from him to you & George & says when you come to Town it will make him very happy if you will let him call upon you - I shew'd him the K's letter we both agreed it was very affectionate but very little to the purpose;" adding, in a postscript dated, news of one of Minney's household staff who has been ill but is getting very good care.
