Summary
Expressing her relief that she has safely crossed the Alps and is in Rome; explaining that she has numbered all the letters she sent her and asking to tell her which ones she is missing worrying "...they should have got into any one's hands but yours as I wrote all sorts of Gossip that occurr'd;" discussing the Panic of 1825, saying "The Town this day is in the greatest Confusion possible almost all the Country Banks have stop'd payment & those that have money in the funds if drawn out now will lose near 20 pr cent therefore you had better [illegible] for your Income & leave the Stocks till they can pay better or you will be a great loser mention this to Col. D. for he must understand it & I am sure my dear Girl you know nothing about the matter - indeed to all this Confusion news is just arriv'd of the Emperor Alexander's Death which it is said will make great Confusion in the Political World;" relating gossip of friends and news of Minney's brothers Frederick, George and Horace; saying her "...aches and pains plague me so much" that she has postponed her trip to Brighton.
