There is a penciled note on the verso of this letter, in the hand of Lady Constance Leslie, the youngest daughter of "Minney" Dawson-Damer, saying "Lord Francis in this letter, who Lady Stafford wished to marry my mother - later Earl of Ellesmere."
Address panel with seal and postmarks to "Madame Dawson nee Seymour / Soins de Messrs Freeborn Smith & Co. / Rome."
Miss Seymour married George Dawson-Damer on August 20, 1825.
