Summary
Expressing her hope that she has arrived safely in Paris; asking that letters to her be sent to Tilney Street as she will be going "on a tour of visits. I dont mean to stay more than a fortnight at Hooton and as soon as I can after the 24th I shall go to Chatsworth the Duke has been all kindness to me & said all sort of pretty things about you & talk'd of writing to L'y Granville who he was sure w'd do all she could to make your Sejour pleasant to you. Since writing the above I had a letter from Lady Downshire informing me that poor Sr. Tho' Stepney was seiz'd w'h a cholera morbus... & died on Monday morning. I am very nervous & this account has shock'd me very much poor Soul what will become of her, I fear she will be pennyless."
