Summary
Saying she has been unwell and appreciative of her offer to visit her but thinks it best for her to leave on her journey to Italy while the weather is good; saying she is sure Col. Dawson will take good care of her and asking where she should address letters to her; expressing her shock at the death of Lady Elphinstone; asking her to thank George for his letter; adding "God Bless you my dearest Minny you cannot think how happy you make me by writing so often to me pray continue to do so if only one line to say you are well;" adding, in a postscript marked "Private", "[illegible] is quite miserable that you have not mention'd something about the disposal of the money he says he fears the Servants will think he means to defraud them of it."
