Summary
Expressing her distress at hearing the account of her passage in stormy seas and saying they are also having stormy weather; relating social news of friends and saying she has heard she had an agreeable time at Hampton Court; expressing her hope that she has written to the King; saying "I hope my Dear Minny you have written a proper letter to the King if you have not already done so pray do it, it is what he has a right to expect & when you see Mr. Forster I am sure he will be of my opinion;" adding that Mary sends her love "..and would have written but this place affords no subject for letters for we are living in the most perfect retirement quite au bout du monde;" asking her to write more legibly in her letters "...since it is quite impossible to make out half what you have written."
