Summary
Explaining that she has not written because she knew Louisa would deliver the news, that she has been suffering a great deal from gout and rheumatism but still hopes to get to London on Wednesday; saying it is very quiet in Brighton "...but at present it suits me very well for I am not fit for any thing but laying my whole length upon the Sopha - I trust when this attack is over I shall come out quite a young gay person & able to enjoy my friends again for I have been a sad good for nothing person for some time past - I have nothing to write about to amuse you except that two days ago my old friend Miles stop'd my Carriage to wish me joy of my daughters marriage I did not know what the old Creature meant at last he said he had read in the Papers that you were going to be married to Ld. John Townshend - w'ch you may be sure I desir'd him to contradict as it was current all over Brighton."
