Expressing her anticipation of Minney's visit and the entertaining she will do when she arrives; relating news of friends and social engagements; adding "You will be delighted at the very great improvements the Chain Pier is beautiful & I have a delightful view of it from my window;" telling her she has been getting her room ready for her arrival; adding "every body that could gain admittance has been at the K[ing's] Chapel this morn'g. When the Panel behind his Majesty took fire & the Congregation were nearly suffocated the Sparks of fire made its appearance in the Chapel & as his Majesty did not move all the Company sat quiet frightened out of their Wits but none of them dared move - after about three quarters of an hour the fear of being burnt had subsided the windows were thrown open & every body dying of the Cold - but at present all escap'd unhurt - The D of Y & the Clarences are expected here ye 24th. The poor Duke has had [a] bad cold but he writes me word he is better."
