Expressing her sympathies towards "our dear suffering Jessie [Barclay]", hoping to soon hear that she is better, reflecting that "The sweet uses of adversity will compensate to her for these sad days, and she has even now the pleasure of all those little tendernesses of friendship that are only to be purchased by sickness", and stating that she has been "far from well" herself.
