Summary
Informing her that they will need to postpone a previously planned visit as alterations are to made to her home and it will be unfit to receive visitors until the close of May at the earliest; stating that she believes her friend to be correct in questioning the wisdom of spending her time in learning Latin, and commenting on her own course of study, which she characterizes as "too varied and laborious", given that she has "so many social duties"; briefly discussing some of her recent reading, including references to a "scheme of prophetic interpretations" (i.e., Edward Bickersteth's "A practical guide to the prophecies") and "The doctor" (by Robert Southey); asking her if she is familiar with (John) Keble's "The Christian year", and noting that she has had four lessons in German and that she likes the language "extremely".
