Summary
Telling Rosenberg that Bellier's appraisal is done, completed in one day. It was an annoyance for Bellier because all the furnishings were just ordinary. Matisse had warned him and regrets Bellier's having had to make the effort to do the appraisal. Bellier was kind and understanding. Matisse hopes that he can help them to end this business as soon as possible so he can be at peace again. Concerning the future division with Mme Matisse, represented by Madame Duthuit, it should take place quite simply and quickly with Rosenberg and Josse [Bernheim] on May 1 or 2. Matisse will return to Paris at the end of April. This date will be good for Josse, according to what Gaston [Bernheim] told him. He hopes that the date will be good for Rosenberg, too. He can't return sooner because he's so sensitive to the cold that it's too risky. He's in bed right now with a sore throat and a fever. He saw Colle [probably the painter Michel-Auguste Colle] who mentioned that he had seen Rosenberg. He's still waiting for Rosenberg's visit.
