Summary
Concerning distributions from the Pfeiffer fund; saying "I have just received the Attorney Generals' decision respecting the list of recommendations which we (Miss Swanwick, Mr. Mundella and I) submitted to him in reference to the distribution of the second & final portion of the Pfeiffer fund; and that he expresses his entire approval & will probably submit a scheme for the Sanction of the Court. Among these recommendations is one for awarding £2000 in aid of the fund for the Ladies institution in connexion with St. Andrews in which you are so much interested. So although the matter is not legally settled, & must not be talked about at present, I cannot deny myself the pleasure of telling you in confidence, that we have good reason to hope that ere long you will receive a formal letter from the Solicitors announcing a satisfactory Settlement."
