Summary
He thanks him for the information but needs clarification. He got check number 148,338. However, the second figure is clear to him. He says that Rosenberg wrote 70,000 [francs] in cash. However, he received a check from him for 13,893.40 in August that he remembers carrying around in his wallet for weeks. He didn't make a note of having received this amount and doesn't remember if it was part of the 70,000 or if it was something additional. He'd like clarification as soon as possible. Matisse is at the end of the flu. He hopes to get back to work on Monday. He says that the good news Rosenberg sent him about Picasso made him very happy. He says he hadn't heard about this law forbidding divorce and will reassure Picasso [or the law itself will reassure Picasso].
