Summary
Concerning her conversion to Catholicism and explaining why she cannot meet her; saying "These are kind plans you make - it costs me to check them. It is just this : as I have become a Catholic I propose that we do not meet. It will not make for our peace. And I trust you, dear Mary, to recognise Michael's 'wisdom' in this. Do not write now at all - When you return to Italy, more news of these gay young creatures who are taking such draughts of life, & news of their Mother, Michael's so old friend. Dears, we care for you very much, for you & for Bernhard; let us all have patience. The Time is not now for speech. / Lovingly yours / Michael."
