Summary
Saying "Thy dear second letter is just come! - I ordered Campion posted on Wednesday evening, to greet thee this morning. This I hammered into 'the Child of the Hour' - I said - but no matter - thou hast these wave-riding ships, some on the crest, some in the trough! We love them together. Hennie, I did clasp the teeth of my little-band this morning ; & tried to tie a bow. Alas, it resembled, when complete a white, shaggy peony, drooping with heavy rain! But when by invitation I went in to say good morning to Amy, she admired it - so, Darling, has his reward. Merle your letters are so wonderful, they strike me silent. But my silence is the silence of the big sea, & a Kingdom in itself...Alack, I have no more gifts for Hennie - I like him to receive something every few hours - but I give him in perpetual sacrament & Real Presence myself. - Believe in the real presence - oh verily! Now we go out - a shopping! I fancy - No Battle - only Health - Good to love oo' Hennie, good to love oo' with. Hennie! My dearest! Farewell for a [illegible] / Michael."
