Summary
Leger has received a card from Kurt Valentin announcing the opening of the exhibition of his gouaches and drawings in his gallery on October 5. He was surprised, because he thought that the opening would coincide with the one at Rosenberg's gallery, around the 15th. That's what they had agreed to. He thinks October 5 is too early. He insists that the 15th be the opening date for Rosenberg's exhibition (but is willing to allow a few days' leeway). It will run for a month. He wants Rosenberg to confirm this--the opening date and duration of the exhibit. He would like to sell the following 4 paintings at the exhibition: One in the collection of James Sweeney, in New York, one in a museum in St. Louis, one in the collection of Madame Martins, Brazilian Embassy, Washington, and one in the collection of Miss Juliet Thompson, Mayfair House, New York. He tells Rosenberg to request them on behalf of both of them. They're part of the exhibition that they have planned together. He suggests that the invitation for the expo read: Masterpieces of Fernand Léger, 1941-42, New York.
