Summary
Saying "We have been evacuated here; rather annoying for you, I'm afraid, as it might have suited you to be doing it [illegible] near home. However the billeting situation so very bad and I don't know how you'd have arranged it. I get a day and a half off next Monday; could I come over to you for Monday night? I rather fancy if you now felt like taking a sub editing job there would be another vacancy, because the city slickers are very sick of being here and threaten to resign - however I'll try to have more information when I come; hope you are going on all right."
