Summary
Sending him and his family New Year wishes for 1954. She says they'll be seeing each other soon. Things are proceeding slowly [with Suzanne's adoption]. It was hard to obtain Suzanne's birth certificate because she was born in a little village. Because Suzanne's father was a teacher, it required some special attention or certification, and it took the mayor more than 2 months to understand that fact, but they finally got it. She's waiting for the court's verdict about the apartment the following week. The court of appeals evicted her, which was necessary. Etienne de Beaumont, who left for Switzerland in an ambulance, is back as spry as ever. His meningitis was very well treated in Switzerland. It's cold in Paris, and she has a cold. They fear complications. Nourry, her lawyer, is taking care of her affairs [her will]. She has enclosed a New Year's card and will send him a second one [not enclosed].
