Summary
Telling him that she sent the part of his letter concerning his son-in-law to Dr. Arnault Tzanck. When she called Tzanck, asking him if his assistant, Dr. S. Lewi, who had just given Rosenberg some kind of injections was also a dermatologist, he answered that he was more qualified to deal with the problem along with an old doctor. She gives him Dr. Lewi's address, since he knows Rosenberg and is Arnault Tzank's right-hand man. In case there is a wait to see such an important, busy doctor, she's going to see him soon and maybe he'll tell her something. Nothing is certain. She saw an exhibition of works by Braque, which received a lot of attention [that irritated her]. When she looks at his paintings, she feels she's descending underground into the catacombs, toward death. They're beautiful but sad. There's talk of war in Africa in the air. She has been working on some portraits, which she says don't really look like their subjects. She is standing straighter than ever.
