Summary
Thanking him for his New Year wishes and informing him that what he told her about the paintings doesn't surprise her. She asks him if he's sure they're all by her. She wanted to send him an article from Le Figaro [newspaper] about the fact that she donated the proceeds for a small portrait of a head to "les Vieux Peintres." It was sold for 100,000 francs at an auction along with one by Picasso for 106,000 francs, a Matisse for 800,000 francs and a book by [Georges] Rouault. She has painted few paintings since Rosenberg left Paris but has been working on drawings. She plans to return to painting. She has also done a pretty green and pink lithograph the Madame Jacquart is going to reproduce. She says she has received a greeting card[?] from the U.S., which is quite something. They left the signature "Marie Laurencin" and "Made in Germany" and added green and pink "tartines." Braque is making [painting?] dishes. The weather isn't very cold, but they keep cutting off the electricity, but with Suzanne [Moreau], she can put up with anything. Arnault Tzanck often has headaches. There's a kind of sadness surrounding him.
