Summary
She received his letter and its contents and will write to Vicart [Rosenberg's secretary]. There have been many air raid warnings, and she has been hiding in a luxurious basement with some other women. Madame Desurmont has had no word from her mother and family in the north of France. Berthier's daughter is expecting a baby in a month. Her older daughter was evacuated to the Mayenne. Everything is uncertain, and Laurencin feels that maybe Brittany [in far western France] is safer. Rose Descat wants to take her to Trianel. She wonders where the Belgians and Dutch can find refuge. Armand has to go to London for 4 or 5 days on family business.
