Summary
Expressing his disappointment "...if this weekend proves impossible, but I shall be still sorrier for you, having this vexation and inconvenience. I do hope in any case that the position will be dealt with sensibly, so that you need not get special permission to move between Chelsea and North End on each occasion. Meanwhile, if we don't go this weekend, I hope you will ask me later; and I have plenty to do here - I have about fifteen houses to visit around me, to talk to the people about stirrup pumps and incendiary bombs! But I shall keep this weekend, and I shouldn't have gone anywhere else, so you needn't think that I shall be inconvenienced."
