Summary
Asking for his help in finding a job for George Barker; saying "I don't know exactly what your relations are with the advertising world at present, and if this request is merely a nuisance please say so. I am trying to find a job of some kind for George Barker, who is an interesting young poet, several of whose volumes we have published. He suffers both from malnutrition and a tendency to write too much, and a steady job, even at a very small salary, would help in both ways. He says that he would be very much interested in advertising. He draws and sketches, but I have not seen any of his work of this kind; and he is also much interested in typography. I sent him to Tom Beachcroft, who was very nice to him, and gave him an introduction to some people in Walter Thompson's, but there was nothing doing there. If you cared to let him come to see you at some time and give him advice, I should be very grateful; but if you feel that you have nothing to say, I don't want to waste your time;" asking, in a postscript, "Did Marion ever get a letter from me about the drawing desk? / T."
