Summary
Note at the top: Armand's secretary doesn't want word to get around about his illness [nose hemorrhage]. Armand is quite ill--more nose hemorrhages, which, according to the doctors, is good. He has nurses day and night. Consultation today with 3 doctors: de Gennes, Layani, and Mazarakis. He has had 7 or 8 hemorrhages. The Gimpels sent a telegram to his sister, Juliette Abrahams. She asks Rosenberg for the address of his photographer, or she'll ask Vicart (his secretary), whom she has to see anyway about her taxes. She talks about the fright Rosenberg must have had--the car [carrying his children] not showing up. She talks about Mingo [Rosenberg's dog]. A young woman living alone in the building wants a ferocious watchdog. Rosenberg is unable to care for the dog, but people always want a beautiful dog, especially women, who feel so alone.
