Summary
Concerning his search for a new space for the Ragged School; saying "Since I had the honor of last addressing you I have not been able to meet with any premises applicable to our purpose and I fear that without taking some which would require money being laid out upon to adapt them to our wants we are not likely to succeed - I have seen two small Houses which would almost require rebuilding and the Landlord might be induced to make them into one or let to us to do so with if taken for a definite time - This would require a responsible person as Tenant - It has suggested itself to my mind whether the Committee of Council on Education might not be solicited to assist us with a grant towards that end as I am informed has been in some cases done - I mention this, that as you have thus far kindly interested yourself and expressed your desire to cooperate in this work of benevolence you could probably suggest the best mode of making application for this purpose should it be deemed desirable - Allow me in conclusion to express my thanks for the interest you have manifested in the welfare of the school and for the suggestions contained in your last favor and further to assure you that when circumstances will allow the Committee will be happy to carry them into effect."
