Summary
Informing him that Rosenberg told her about the letter that the recipient had sent to Rosenberg and that she found discourteous. She says that she doesn't understand anything about justice [or the justice system], but that if there's anyone who's looked out for her best interests and has allowed her to lead a pleasant life since the war (WWI), it's Rosenberg. She assures the recipient that she has more confidence in Rosenberg for caring for her paintings than she has in the recipient, since she "has learned recently that everything that was in her name in her apartment and that can be seen on both sides of Rue de la Boetie at art galleries has been sold for a total of 30 francs." She adds that he shouldn't be offended if he represents for her a frightening form of justice that up to now she has accepted graciously. However, she feels that her paintings feel more like her own when they're in Rosenberg's gallery. At least she can see them there rather than in some unknown location where they'd be "invisible."
