The letters formed part of the Burdett-Coutts sale (Sotheby, 17 May 1922); they were purchased for Oliver W. Barrett in whose collection they remained until it was sold by his son (Parke-Bernet, 31 October 1951).
Summary
Thanking her for her note and asking about Mrs. Brown; telling her of a meeting he has arranged with a Mr. Stone and "the Incumbent of Christchurch St. George's in the East;" asking if she could see him earlier on Sunday as they "...generally dine early on Sunday, because of our two girls dining with us;" enclosing the Shepherd's Bush book and asking if he should pay an account and also give money to Mrs. Morson for her Petty Cash.
