Provenance
The letters formed part of the Burdett-Coutts sale (Sotheby, 17 May 1922); they were purchased for Oliver W. Barrett in whose collection they remained until it was sold by his son (Parke-Bernet, 31 October 1951).
Summary
Saying that they will be delighted to welcome her and Hannah Brown to Gad's Hill on Thursday; making arrangements for their stay; mentioning that he will be at Urania Cottage on Wednesday for Committee Day; writing "The fogs that welcome you to London, have no existence in these parts. An ethereal mist or so is sometimes seen in the distance -- nothing grosser."
