Summary
She hopes that "Monsieur N" was not in danger of being thrown out the window and that he has patched things up with Rosenberg. She is staying at her mother-in-law's now. She asks whether Rosenberg can send her some blank canvases so that she can paint. She doesn't like the quality of German ones. She's waiting for a package from Groult (cotton cloth, dolls, etc.) and asks him to call him or his wife to see if the package was sent by the shipper. A friend, Dr. Arnault Tzanck [a French physician and pioneer of blood transfusion] is sending her 10 kilos of chocolate in 10 separate lots. She hasn't received any yet. Gaston Gallimard would like to see her paintings, but he is afraid of disturbing Rosenberg. She has begun two more but doesn't like to talk about her work because talking about it takes away her desire to continue. She's leaving in a week for Baden-Baden for 3-4 days to see a house that she has rented part of. She says that everyone is trying to find her an apartment in Paris--Tzanck, Gallimard, and Rosenberg. She needs her own place to live there. M. and Mme Groult have offered to let her stay with them, but she would rather have her own apartment.
