Summary
Sending final edits for A Summary Account; discussing the subject of education for women and his views on it; saying that he would be happy to give her his opinion on the arrangement of the book once it is complete; responding to her praise of the pieces in the Christmas number of Household Words by himself and Wilkie Collins; describing their collaboration; urging her and Mrs. Brown to come see "The Frozen Deep" when it is performed at Tavistock House and listing all the reasons he thinks they might enjoy it; inviting them to come on a night when only "our tradespeople and the Servants' relations come. Couldn't you two sit beside Mrs. Dickens that night? Do think of it. It made me quite unhappy last night, looking at Mary, to reflect that you would not see something that seems so fresh and wholesome to me."
