The letters formed part of the Burdett-Coutts sale (Sotheby, 17 May 1922); they were purchased for Oliver W. Barrett in whose collection they remained until it was sold by his son (Parke-Bernet, 31 October 1951).
Summary
Asking about the schedule of Mr. Hullah's singing lessons at the Home; saying "Mr. Hullah begs to know (as it is important to his other arrangements) what is proposed to be done about the singing in future - whether it is to take place once a week - and if so, on what day. The agreed payment for one year on the old principle of two lessons a week (£50) is also due;" asking if Mrs. T[ripp] is on regular probation.
