Provenance
The letters formed part of the Burdett-Coutts sale (Sotheby, 17 May 1922); they were purchased for Oliver W. Barrett in whose collection they remained until it was sold by his son (Parke-Bernet, 31 October 1951).
Summary
Thanking her for her "prompt kindness" and asking her to tell Mr. Brown that he "...will not trouble him to endeavour to get the poor man in, before the next reception day. His case does not appear to be so very urgent, as to justify it. He shall go on Wednesday at the appointed time."
