Provenance
The letters formed part of the Burdett-Coutts sale (Sotheby, 17 May 1922); they were purchased for Oliver W. Barrett in whose collection they remained until it was sold by his son (Parke-Bernet, 31 October 1951).
Summary
Apologizing that he is unable to call on her before the 26th or 27th; reporting that as he and Mr. Chesterton had "...agreed upon the alterations to be made, and the contractor to be employed, I begged him to have the estimate made and the work begun without loss of time. Which I have no doubt is already done."
