The letters formed part of the Burdett-Coutts sale (Sotheby, 17 May 1922); they were purchased for Oliver W. Barrett in whose collection they remained until it was sold by his son (Parke-Bernet, 31 October 1951).
Summary
Correcting the time for an appointment with her; adding "The piano goes away on Friday. My mind misgives me that some other Instrument will take the house afterwards. I have seen a man looking at the bill, who has been heard playing the flute in the Evening under solitary cliffs."
