Summary
Declining an invitation; saying "...a sudden necessity for his going a few miles from town on business, prevents his having the honor of dining with her today. But Mr. Dickens hopes to have the pleasure of paying his respects to Miss Coutts in the course of the Evening, if he can by any means return to town in time."
