Summary
Sending him a proof by Peter Vandick [Pieter Vandyke?], after Vostermanns [probably Johannes Vorstermans [aka John Vosterman and F. de Vosterman] and expressing his hope that he will be pleased with it. Noting that there is a slight flaw in it, but that it should be seen with all its advantages and that the flaw is unimportant. Stating that he insisted that it not be colored, as one of Rembrandt's might have been. Asking Roger [evidently in reference to a different print] to respond to his previous letter and to inform him what he wants written on the print and how he would like proofs sent to him. Asking if he wants the bill from the printer included. Roger originally said that he wanted to have the print printed by his own bookseller, but Boilly prefers that a third party not be involved. Informing Roger that if he wants another portrait executed by Boilly's brother, he should specify of whom it should be.
