Summary
Thanking him for sending a clipping of a review from "The bookman" and remarking that there have been "five big productions in London this week", the successes being an American comedy, an English novel, and an American musical, with the failures being "Esmond & me"; expressing his puzzlement at his play's lack of success ("I like the play myself"), advising Pratt to go to the Lakes, and noting that a new play by (Charles?) Forest is due to open at the gaiety, "if they can persuade the censor to pass it."
