Summary
Commenting on [George] Borrow and arranging for a visit; saying "But I never thought my quite ignorant questions about Borrow whom I simply know nothing about could be of any use at all. I would be real proud to give you a chair - to rock your brains - only you must let me know exactly the kind of thing you have an eye to;" referring to a review of "The Return" that was "...sugar to the xth degree - I shall have it on Sunday instead of a pudding;" telling him to come as early as he can "...if you are sure you won't be bothered by the children. Just let me have a card saying when we may expect you; & anyhow, we can get a quiet talk in the evening. Of course now that it's impossible to get away I feel as if what little sanity's left depended on nine years complete seclusion. Would they take me in if I applied in a straight waistcoat. Love from us all, & come early."
