Summary
Braque has followed PR's advice and found out all the necessary information for the return of his works from the US: He has gone to see Foinet [whom he calls Fouanet in MA 3500.45], who was in charge of sending the paintings to Chicago. Foinet has all the papers and will be coming to see Rosenberg in New York. As for the works that Rosenberg sent, Braque has made the following arrangement, as the simplest solution: They should be sent to [Jean] Cassou, Director of the Musee d'Art moderne in Paris, who will return them to Braque. Braque has received a letter from Rosenberg's brother [Edmond] requesting certification [of sale] for one of Rosenberg's paintings that has been found. [see MA 3500.46]. Braque feels that he has recovered his health, and he is working hard. He hopes to see Rosenberg when he comes to Paris, but doesn't know how long Rosenberg will be there, since Braque doesn't know if he will be reopening his gallery. America seems to be getting closer to France--communication is improving, and many more Americans are visiting Paris.
