Summary
Thanking him for his telegram and telling him that he immediately cabled "Art Club" [probably the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the California Art Club] to accept their offer to have an exhibition of his work in San Francisco. Hess happy with this offer, because he prefers to have his paintings in the U.S. [because of the war]. He wonders if Rosenberg has changed his plans, because if he is planning to open his gallery on [April] 15th, he must already be back in Paris. Braque has been working a great deal and hopes to have completed some paintings soon, but they won't be ready for the 15th. He hopes that Rosenberg will open his gallery and that he will have a prolonged stay in Paris. He is looking forward to seeing Rosenberg there. It will remind him of old times--and he's sad at having to see his works in quasi isolation in Varengeville.
