Summary
Saying how pleased and surprised he is to have heard from Knight after all these years, though he has often thought of him; writing that he has been active and well up until recently, when he had a stroke that paralyzed his left arm and leg; adding that the doctors tell him he will be able to make a full recovery for the moment he is "disabled and suffering. I write with effort;" assuring Knight of his friendship: "I have much to say to you. I may wait long ere I am good for much, but you will not be forgotten;" telling him to address all future letters to Baycliffe, Lymm, Cheshire.
