Thanking him for books about the ascent of two mountains in the Alps (the Dent du Géant and the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey); discussing her plans for climbing in the Mont Blanc region in the fall; saying that she hopes to start in June "[n]ot to begin high climbing for a month - but to see friends at Aosta, see the flowers & young verdure come back to the valleys & continue to make studies among the valley folk;" describing the Christmas presents she received from friends who live in the mountains this year, including wine, cheese, edelweiss, and a chamois skin; sending him new year's greetings.
