Summary
Concerning the search for a memorial stone for John Wordsworth in his churchyard; saying "I have been making a search for the gravestone of John Wordsworth - & in what seemed to me the most effective way - by promising my assembled choir-boys, that any one who c'd find me one [illegible] headstone with that name, shld have a sixpence - no claimant having appeared, I am sure there is no headstone now. There is no note in the burial register, which dates the burial on 23 March 1805 - When you paid your visit here 50 years ago J.W. Chamberlaine was the clergyman, at least the Rector, tho' he may have had a Curate. I am sorry I have not been enabled to give you more [illegible] & satisfactory information on the subject."
