Summary
Acknowledging receipt of the [proof] copies of Knight's book; saying "I have not been able to do very much at it, as I am much occupied with work in preparation for College Term. I see some small things which appear to need attention. I make a note of them as they occur but my eyes are so bad at small print that I am sure to overlook things which ought to be remarked. I will write again when I have made more progress. The Grasmere Cottage is, I hear, owned still by the Benton family, also owners of Dove's Nest. A considerable amount of land goes with the Cottage - and I do not think it likely that the property will come onto the market - At all events not without ample notice. I saw W. Wordsworth at Windermere - he had come to see his son off by train."
