Summary
Concerning his fundraising efforts in Jerusalem and the school he has started; thanking him for reaching out to Andrew Carnegie on his behalf but fearing that with all the competing requests put before Carnegie his would not succeed; saying "I am going on collecting with much pains & slow success...We have got a successful school of boys together, 29 at present - they are of all Churches and beliefs - including Jews & Moslems. So long as their own belief is not attacked, they are glad to hear the story of the Gospel, and of the Old Testament : but of course they come for tender teaching mainly - But education is, at present the main route for missionary advances - and these buildings are a vantage ground for much useful work;" adding that he hopes he will come out to visit.
